This is a website I created to share information on cameras, film, video, how-to articles and some nostalgic tech stuff. As much as I really love the great tech gear and gadgets we have today, there is something really fun about seeing a 30 or 40 year piece of tech that still works.
The technology of today is amazing compared to what we had back in the 70s and 80s. So many things today have more features, higher specs and are easier to use than most of what we had back then.
Even though many things are better these days, not every thing is. The 70s and 80s were actually better at a few things. For instance, back then we had what I consider the historic high water mark for well built film cameras. In 35mm format alone, there were so many super well built and reliable cameras available that the choices covered page after page of photography magazines. The only quality 35mm film cameras still being sold today (2018) are the Leica M7 and Nikon F6. The only other choices today are some plastic disposable cameras and a few other low end offerings.
The main focus of this site is going to be looking back at old tech, digging up some old stories, and sharing some how-to tips that I have learned over the years.
What ever I post, you can always be sure it is safe for work and family friendly. If that sounds interesting, please check back from time to time as I get more content up.
Thank you for stopping by.
